The Treasures of Antique Heritage Tour: Kruhay Antique!

It has been early morning when we still left Days Hotel with Iloilo to meet other Old-fashioned Heritage Tour people at the UP Visayas University. Together with fellow Pinoy Journey Bloggers and UP Visayas students, we left the actual campus at around 7am and headed to the southern part of Iloilo.

Before heading to Antique, we visited two heritage sites inside Iloilo – the Miagao Church and also the San Joaquin Cemetery. Our next stop was a student in Melinda’s restaurant for all our Brunch. The bistro was just simple, this reminds me of my favorite carinderia back in my senior high school days but the foodstuff in this restaurant are exceptionally good!! We were all reminded to consume light since we all still have our lunch break in Tibiao but I suppose nobody listened LOL, we all enjoyed the dinuguan, lechon kawali and their super delectable Chopsuey (chinese mixed fresh vegetables).

After chorus of burps! we proceeded to Brgy. Diclum for our Buri Weaving activity. Buri weaving is the method to obtain livelihood of women in this Barangay. Students from UP Visayas were devided in several teams and they also were tasked to produce a small buri bag in their immersion.

This type of activity not only help students understand the value of livelihood packages, it also help the locals by showcasing their particular talents and produce sales from finish off products they are selling as souvenirs.
