Newly opened in September 2015, The Laslett by Rooms can be found on Pembridge Gardens, just a minute’s go walking from Notting Hill Entrance Underground station. Associated with Small Luxury Motels of the World, this store hotel is set all over five Victorian townhouses as well as takes its inspiration via Notting Hill’s cultural historical past and creative character. The hotel is named after Rhaune Laslett, organiser of the original Notting Slope Festival.
I was cordially welcomed at party and personally consideration to my room because of the receptionist.
I stayed within room 20 about the first floor – a Master Room Suite. It is a realistically generous size, together with desk and separate table/eating area, as well as the your bed pictured which was incredibly comfortable indeed.
The area provided me with ample living space to get on in addition to do some work,?and i also found the location surprisingly quiet, despite their proximity to the Below ground. There is a balcony outside the room, but it is it’s unlikely that any that you have access to get out onto.
The bathroom experienced everything you might expect – a single basin, WC, bathtub and rain bath above it.
Large plastic bottles of Neal’s Backyard Remedies (Covent Garden) made out of citrus-based essential oils together with citrus were furnished along with bespoke Areas bath robes, available from their shop.
Room services available and a special deals board can be found in your living area.
I chose the oak used to smoke salmon fillet with holiday leaves, dill and buttermilk attire from the main selection but this was unavailable, so I opted as a substitute for one of the deals – a tasty tomato along with goat’s cheese risotto, cleansed down with a The year 2013 375ml Terre de Mistral Cote du Rhone (other drinks are available from your minibar), as well as a chocolate brownie.
In this morning, I traveled to the Henderson Bar which can be open for?breakfast every day from 7am, and had the growing season berries followed by smoked salmon bagel.
Other nice touches
There has been an?interesting mix off artwork on the surfaces of my place from the likes involving Barbara Hulanicki (the founder of the iconic west Manchester store BIBA), Toby Mott, Brian David Stevens and Jerome Dodd, along with a note telling you more to do with the artists. I could possess sworn the Barry Kamen photograph of a torso was hung upside down until eventually I took a closer inspection and saw their initials in the corner.
Rooms at The Laslett start from lb 250 per night.
The best bit
As well as its closeness to a well-connected?Undergrond station, I actually liked the fact that that is a small hotel – sufficiently small for it to still need a personal touch.
The final verdict
The Laslett feels more like your home than a hotel. Rooms are fresh, interestingly-designed and befitting of this stylish part of London.
